Alana is a graphic designer and landscape painter. Her artwork is deeply inspired by our coastal wilderness, particularly the places she has explored by kayak. Multi-day paddling trips along the west coast of Vancouver Island, through the Gulf Islands, and in Howe Sound have given her a close connection to the rhythms of the coast—its shifting weather, changing light, quiet coves, and rugged shorelines.
Working primarily in acrylic paint, Alana creates landscapes that seek to capture both the beauty and atmosphere of the natural world. Drawing from sketches, photographs, and memories gathered during her travels, she paints scenes that reflect a strong sense of place and invite viewers to share in the feeling of discovery that comes from exploring remote coastal environments. Most of her work features colours that remain true to the landscapes she experiences, while her ‘Golden Skies’ series embraces a more expressive approach, filling the canvas with bold, vibrant colours inspired by dramatic sunsets and glowing horizons.
When she is not designing or spending time outdoors, Alana paints in her home studio, transforming her experiences on the water into works that celebrate the landscapes that continue to inspire her.

Angela is a multidisciplinary artist working from Eastside Atelier Studios in Vancouver BC and residing in New Westminster. Her practice spans painting, mixed media, textile and collage. She explores texture, colour and material relationships in layered, intuitive ways. With a background in interior design her understanding of composition, space and visual harmony informs her work. This intersection between art and design allows her to approach each piece with both expressive freedom and a refined sense of balance.
Angela studied Interior Design at Fanshawe College in London Ontario and finished a Fine Arts program at Emily Carr in Vancouver BC. She worked in the design field for the past 40 years specifically in merchandising and buyer for a furniture business.
Angela has always been creative whether in the field of design or art. She is passionate about it and continues to explore and grow as an artist.

Elina Daoutova is a graphic designer and multidisciplinary artist who spent 25+ years creating brands, serving on nonprofit boards, sponsoring cultural events, and providing pro bono design for community projects before discovering pottery in 2025.
With a degree in Fine Arts / Graphic Design, Elina builds artwork, rooted in an intimate communion with the earth, Tatar-Bashkir ancestral legacy, and her four rescue birds. Her art practice spans across different mediums, including sculpture, painting, textiles, and jewelry.

About the Artists
Paul Newton is an award-winning lens-based artist based out of New Westminster, British Columbia. His haunting and evocative photographs capture a wide spectrum of subjects from discovered locations around the world. Employing multiple techniques, both in camera and through digital artistry, Paul creates truly unique and captivating images that encourage viewers to escape into new worlds of wonder.
Paul’s photographs tell a story, inviting the viewer to discover their own narrative within each image. With escape as an underlying theme, his goal is to transport the viewer to places of imagination, while keeping one foot firmly planted in reality.
From the rugged, windswept coastlines of Iceland, the misty forests of the Pacific Northwest, to the forgotten brutalist monuments of Eastern Europe, Paul’s images are hauntingly beautiful, drawing viewers in with their sense of mystery and otherworldly qualities.
Victoria Mitchell intricately conveys a unique visual language through surreal and representational paintings and illustrations. Her enigmatic and joyful abstractions engage viewers with introspective depth and environmental sensitivity. She is influenced by extensive studies of body structure and kinetics, and is strongly inspired by connections with our natural surroundings. Since 2017, Victoria has been working from a Vancouver-based studio, supporting and networking closely with arts communities, and exhibiting in multiple solo and group gallery exhibitions in BC and internationally.

Working in textile based mixed media, Jennie uses repurposed cloth and contemporary fabrics to create works layered with stitch, photo transfer, and paint. Her quilted pieces remain fundamental objects of craft despite losing their functionality.
Her work has been displayed in solo and group exhibits in British Columbia, Quebec, Ontario, the U.S, and Italy. She also contributes to social activist art projects from all over the world including Australia and Mexico.
Jennie has worked with community members through artist residencies and curated community art calls to expand knowledge about quilting & textiles and other social justice issues such as unpaid labour.

Jessica Gillis is a nature lover by heart and soul. She creates artwork using moss, stones and raw geodes and gemstones. Jessica is inspired by the natural beauty around her in Metro Vancouver. Her pieces are rooted in a personal connection to nature and its calming effects, designed to bring a sense of peace, grounding, and quiet reflection into everyday space.
Judy Villett was nurtured in the beautiful foothills near Banff, Alberta. The pristine landscape became her inspiration and developed her love and respect for nature. Her formal art education began at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Fine Arts program.
Stepping outside the academic art world, she began to silkscreen images on fabric and added quilting to accent her designs. Combining traditional and contemporary techniques has led to a lifetime passion for the texture and multidimensional aspects of cloth.
Her current work continues to adapt techniques and materials to her vision of the world here in the Lower Mainland, her home for the past twenty years. Inspired by gritty urban closeups and lone-distance views of high-rises juxtaposed with nature, her current work is mixed media, using photography, applique and sculptural assembly.
Deeply concerned with the overproduction and overuse of plastic, she combines recycled household plastics with lace and ribbons to attract attention to environmental issues and help protect the beauty and power of nature.
Judy lectures, judges, curates and produces art from her studio in New Westminster. Her work has been shown in juried and solo exhibitions in England, Japan, USA and across Canada.

“Afterhours: Who Is Cleaning It?”
This multimedia exhibition by Khim Mata Hipol examines the invisible labour of Filipino cleaners through weaving, sculpture, and photography to reclaim everyday cleaning tools as symbols of cultural presence and resilience.
The exhibition features handwoven tapestries that combine cleaning fabrics with the colours of the Philippine flag to provide a statement of recognition and reclamation within the cleaning industry.
kʷәcstәxʷ is an ongoing exhibition and will be open September 17 – November 1, 2024.

It all began for Tim within the suburbs of Toronto. Living near a wooded ravine, I developed a fascination for trees and further developed this relationship by working and living in the forests of northern BC and the jungles of Venezuela and Ghana. I began by turning spindles for our heritage house and then parlayed my skills into bowl making. Cruising the established streets of Vancouver has afforded me with a supply of beautiful hardwoods. This wood has adorned the city streets for decades and has either fallen prey to the elements or removed by the city as a hazard. I salvage as much as possible to turn it into my fine bowls and vessels.

Bits & Keys’ is jewelry made from bits and pieces of upcycled and recycled other stuff. Our themes often include the nerdy, the whimsical, and the creepy (occasionally simultaneously) and almost all of our wearable art can be customized on the spot so the pieces match the person.
Occasionally we are able to work with a selection of other artisans; creating a collaborative space. When we work with other artists we choose to work with other intersectionally affected, queer, and disabled, women, trans, and gender nonconforming folks who face multiple barriers to selling their art.
All of the products in our booth are lovingly handmade locally in BC.

Serhii Kolodka, a distinguished Ukrainian iconographer, has found new life in Canada, continuing his sacred artistry with passion and resilience. Escaping the war in Ukraine, he was warmly welcomed at the Cathedral of the Holy Eucharist in New Westminster, where Father Mykhailo Ozorovych provided him with a dedicated studio and essential materials to continue his work.
Serhii’s exceptional talent has quickly been recognized across British Columbia. His commissions include the celebrated “Divine Mercy” icon for Holy Rosary Cathedral in Vancouver, central artworks for Holy Trinity Parish in North Vancouver, and the profound “Life of Saint Francis” icon cycle for St. Francis Parish in Vancouver. Prominent collectors such as Jim Pattison, Robert Lashin, John Nicola, and Vitaliy Kubatsky have also sought his creations.
Passionate about education, Serhii leads iconography and art workshops for all skill levels, from art studios to local IT companies, and offers sessions across Canada, from Calgary to Ottawa. His workshops provide both creative enrichment and emotional healing, especially for displaced Ukrainians.
Serhii’s impact extends beyond the canvas. His journey and artistry were featured in “Summer Road Trip” magazine, and he has earned recognition from Thomas Codrington, the British Consul General in Vancouver.
Through his devotion to sacred art and community engagement, Serhii Kolodka continues to build cultural bridges, share Ukrainian iconographic traditions, and inspire hope across Canada.

Alicia is a goldsmith that specializes in melting down old jewellery and turning it into something new. Her favourite part of making jewellery is seeing what it means to her clients: there’s always a story and every jewellery box is an adventure!
You can love the memories your old jewellery represents but not the jewellery. Love the jewellery but not the memories. Love the jewellery and the memories but want something new anyways. Hate the jewellery and memories and want to watch it burn. Not care about the jewellery and just be excited to recycle it.
Sometimes there is a story behind each design element and sometimes there isn’t! The custom jewellery process is different for everyone and that’s what what makes it special. Either way, recycling old jewellery gives it new life!
Each piece of jewellery is carefully designed and made in New West.

PotteryWorks was founded on June 14th, 2000 in Burnaby, British Columbia by Deidre Blackmore. The working artists and the artists they support all began making art at various stages in their lives. PotteryWorks is a collective of talented painters, potters, photographers and jewellers creating original works of art for exhibition and sale.
Our artists styles and techniques vary greatly, guaranteeing they stand out and every piece is one of a kind. Our staff come from a range of backgrounds with educations in fine arts and design.
